Nancy is a C.P.P. and has been in business in West Linn for 17 years. She specializes in High School Seniors and Family portraits. She has a heart to give back to her community, and does charitable work each year. She volunteers with several nonprofit groups, The F.I.L.M. Project and photographing people with terminal illnesses. Several of the fighters she photographed are now done with therapy and are on the way to health! This, in part, inspired our Superhero theme. She was a stem cell donor for her older brother, Doug, 19 years ago. He is alive and well today but it is a process one never forgets and understands what some of these Superhero's go through.
Who's superhero will you be?

What is a Superhero?
A dream? A fantasy?Just getting up every day and fighting impossible odds?
Our superheroes are the children and their families that are
facing the impossible task of fighting the scariest of villains: cancer,
tumors, genetic disorders. Doernbecher Children's Hospital helps these families...
Turn pain into power
and learn to fly like a superhero.
The $49 entry fee is
donated in its entirety to Doernbecher Children's Hospital. Miriam Haugen and Nancy Steele are passionate about giving sick children a fighting chance and are donating their time to this cause.
When you call your photographer to schedule your session, we
will brainstorm with you about ideas. Since the theme is superheroes, we will
want to talk about costuming (what we have and what you might bring), the
background, best time of day and more. There will also be an opportunity to
have portraits done in clothing of your choosing. This will be a fun and
relaxed session with lots of images to choose from. In most cases, we will
schedule a selection appointment a week after the session.
A 5x7 portrait is
our gift to you.
We also have special packages that you can choose in
addition to the 5x7 starting at $99.
This portrait event is for everyone (not just patients)!
The sick kids at Doernbecher will benefit from you bringing
YOUR children to be photographed. The bonus is that you will get amazing images of your child (or children) by one of the best portrait photographers in Oregon.
Here is What You Do:
- Select the photographer that you would like to work with.
- Schedule a portrait session by contacting the photographer via email or phone .
- Make the $49 donation by one of two ways: a)Write a check made out to Doernbecher (please note "children's cancer research" on the memo line) and give it to your photographer OR b) Go to our special "Superheroes Children's Contest" page and make an online donation that will go straight to Doernbecher.
- Do your portrait session
- Select an image to go into the contest (your photographer will help). You will also have an opportunity to purchase additional portraits for yourself.
- Encourage your friends and relatives to vote for your child for the People's Choice. Voting will take place online from May 15-31. (We will send you a link that you can pass onto everyone.)
"Can I help even
if I don't have a child to enter into the contest?"
Yes, you can...
Sponsor a Child
by gifting a session to a patient at Doernbecher. We have a list of families
that would love to have meaningful, beautiful portraits at this difficult time
but medical bills are taking their toll and they just can't. So here is the deal, you can choose a
sponsorship level for one child or more than one:
·
Green Lantern - $49 entry fee only
·
Batgirl/Batman - entry fee plus a basic package of
portraits $249.
·
Superman/woman - entry fee plus a standard package of
portraits - $499.
These photographers are donating their time and talent to bring smiles to
the faces of Superhero kids.
Be a Superhero!
